Things that have made me happy recently

I love these sorts of posts, both to read and to write. Seeing what makes someone else happy makes me happy. So here’s what has made me happy recently.

Seeing Lala Land.

After seeing all the rave reviews over on twitter I went to the cinema one Friday night and I loved it! I had no idea that Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are singers and dancers, but they didn’t disappoint. And the guest appearance from John Legend – brilliant! It was also really nice to go and watch a film at the cinema instead of watching films on Netflix all the time. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen. And now I want Emma Stone’s whole wardrobe from the film!

Hitting my work out target.

As I’ve mentioned before, since New York marathon I got into a bit of a rut with my fitness and haven’t really worked out. But for the last couple of weeks I did a work out Monday – Friday. I’ve managed to get up in time for all three of Joe Wicks’ live HIIT work outs on Facebook, and have been going for evening runs. Previously I would hate evening work outs but I’ve actually enjoyed my last two evening runs. James bought me a headtorch for Christmas so there really are no excuses for me to get out there!

Signing up for more races.

Having a race to train for definitely makes me feel motivated to get out there and train. So to get out of my funk I signed up to two half marathons, one in March and one in April. So I’ve got a few weeks to get out there and get the miles in, but I’m looking forward to doing some longer runs.

I’ve been listening to their albums on my phone all the time when I’m at home and I love them. For those of you who haven’t heard, they’re like a real life band from Pitch Perfect, if that makes sense?

Having fresh flowers.

I had friends come for dinner last week and they bought over some flowers which were lovely. I love having fresh flowers in the house and right now I’ve got three different bunches dotted around the place. Tulips and daffodils are always so cheery too. All I need to work on now is keeping my houseplants alive. Any tips?!
